The Haines City High School Theatre Program produces a full main stage season through extracurricular offerings and student showcases. The main stage season generally features two fully-produced shows (one musical and one straight play), and the student season includes a One-Act, a student directed night, Beginning and Advanced Acting Showcases, and an improv fundraiser, the 24-hour “X”-treme Theatre Project.

Nearly 200 students are involved in theatre classes throughout the day, including introductory courses in performance and theatre technology, as well as advanced classes in acting and design & technology. HCHS Theatre students also provide technical support for all performances (curricular, community, and professional) held in the Robert Fisher Auditorium each year.

The HCHS Theatre Department is consistently recognized as a top program locally and state wide through their participation and Superior recognition in the District and State Thespian competitions as well as All County Theatre Festival held annually at Polk State College.

We have a great volunteer base, without which our students wouldn't be half as successful. Our volunteers help with everything from set and costume construction to ticket sales to helping out backstage during the run of shows, If you are interested in getting involved, please use the Contact Page to request information about Boosters. Our Parent Boosters meet the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM in the Chorus Room.
